Considered the father of acoustic instrumental music, new age, smooth jazz, Will Ackerman has spawned three generations of acoustic guitarists and pianists through his groundbreaking work as founder of Windham Hill Records. After a year of touring the Four Guitars Ensemble, a recording was made featuring music from the concerts and some of Will’s reimagined and most popular pieces.
Recorded at Ackerman’s Imaginary Road Studios in Vermont, this CD represents an elegant collection of Contemporary Acoustic Guitar at its finest. These are the leading practitioners and innovators in the field of contemporary acoustic guitar today. Hand selected by Will Ackerman these guitarist are at the forefront of contemporary acoustic guitar.
